Star of the Sea School was established by the Diocese and Parish staffed by the Marist Community in 1946 in East Oahu. The school recently modified its name to “Mary, Star of the Sea School” to better reflect their namesake.

Edlin Won has been a part of the Mary, Star of the Sea Schools since 1995.

After teaching in 1st and 2nd grade, she found her calling as a 3rd grade teacher. Edlin has also served the parish as a catechism and CCD instructor and is currently a Eucharistic Minister. We’re so blessed to have her as part of our Star ohana.

Deanna RasmussenDeanna Rasmussen - Mary Star of the Sea

Deanna Rasmussen has served at Mary, Star of the Sea Schools and Parish for 20 years in various capacities – spanning all grade levels (including the ELC and RCIA Adult Education).

Deanna found her passion as the English Language Learner teacher where she’s taught over 300 students from China, Japan, Taiwan, Italy, Mongolia, and Korea. We are so blessed to have Deanna as part of our Star ohana.
