Principal Carol Chong invited Superintendent Dr. Michael Rockers to visit her school’s 8th grade class at their first “Snack with the Super” event on August 30th at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. Everyone received a brown bag decorated colorfully with a scripture or words of wisdom. Each bag came with a hot dog, chips and a bottle of water.

The students were invited to chat with Dr. Rockers and get to know a little more about him. Students asked him questions such as what motivated him to become a superintendent and how difficult his job is.

He also gave two anecdotes from his earlier years as a teacher and principal and taught the students about the importance of getting to know everyone and learning what their talents are. His second story reminded the 8th graders about the powerful influence they have on the younger students and their responsibility as the student leaders of their school.
