Join us at 8:30am, Thursday, August 18th at St. Ann Church for Mass of the Holy Spirit with Bishop Larry Silva as our celebrant. You are welcomed to stay tuned after mass for the Ka Ho’oulu Innovation Award Announcement followed by our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Dustyn Ragasa of Chaminade University.

Dustyn Kainoa Ragasa, PhD Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies
Director of the Master of Pastoral Theology Program
School of Humanities, Arts, and Design
Chaminade University of Honolulu

Dustyn Kainoa Ragasa is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies and the director of the Master of Pastoral Theology program at Chaminade University of Honolulu. Born and raised on the island of Kaua’i, he was honored to return to alma mater as a member of the faculty in 2019 after earning his PhD in Ethics and Social Theory at the Graduate Theological Union at the University of California, Berkeley. His areas of research and academic interest include aretaic ethics of the Aristotelian-Thomistic school, constitutive moral luck, and action theory. As director of the Master of Pastoral Theology program, he also has the privilege to oversee the academic program for the formation of permanent deacons in the Diocese of Honolulu.

He will be speaking to us all about The Confluence of Knowing: Medieval Wisdom for Our Contemporary Prospect.

Faith or reason, feelings or data – necessary oppositions or not? We will revisit a method of disciplined inquiry that may help us to adjudicate and amplify the unique contributions of other-than-empirical ways of knowing in the integral pursuit of truth.
